Places to see, things to do

Pubs and Clubs

Nottingham is a lively city with a wide range of pubs and clubs. Once in the Nottingham City center you will be spoilt for choice. The Nottingham Tourist Information even produced an illustrated map of the pubs and clubs in the city center.

There are certainly too many pubs to list in such a short introduction, even if just restricted to the city center. So here are some of the more popular places including traditional and historical pubs such as the Yates Wine Bar and The Bell in the square, the Salutation, the Royal Children, The Castle and built into the castle rock itself, The Trip to Jerusalem.

Other traditional pubs can be found scattered around the town center, such as the Lincolnshire Poacher with its vast selection of real ale.

If more modern pubs and wine bars are your scene, try any of the wine bars in the exclusive Hockley area of the city center.

If you want to party longer, Nottingham has plenty of night-clubs large and small. For a more alternative club, try the well known Rock City.

Shopping

Nottingham features two shopping centres (the Victoria and the BroadMarsh) on opposite sides of the heart of the shopping area of town. Between the two you will find hundreds of well known, and unique shops on the high streets.

If you are looking for antiques and unusual Arts and crafts, take a short walk to Canning Circus, just beyond the city centre.

Or, for more unusual fashion and jewelry, head down to Hockley.
